ABOUT JFDA

These days, due to the impact of deflation from the decline in Japanese Economy and the lack of qualified human resources, it became a hard task to continue the original function of fine dining restaurant. Meanwhile, We Companies that manage the fine dining gathers together, Establishing Japan Fine Dining Association. The association hopes to cooperate in the development of Japanese Fine Dining, the overseas extensions and to assure the future expansion of the fine dining.

OUR ACTIONS

We Companies that manage the fine dining gather together, Establishing Japan Fine Dining Association. The role of JFDA is to create an organization that plays a vital role in promoting and improving Japanese food culture by forming a community where executives of fine dining restaurants can gather, with the objective of establishing mutual relationship in the areas of merchandises, services, managements, human resources, and overseas expansion. The target is to promote the wonderful Japanese restaurant culture and to assist the future of the restaurant industry.

※Definition of fine dining at JFDA is not limited to high-end places, but it is a restaurant used for its great value and its popularity. In other words, it is a dining offering a place where you can have a pleasant meal.

JFDA 6th Meeting - 22nd January 2020
Union Square Tokyo
To start the 2020 New Year, a New Year Party was held at Union Square Tokyo owned by Mr. Akimoto Michiko president of Wonder table Inc. and Vice Chairman of JFDA.
Wonder table Inc. presented the deliciously lean meat of the rare domestic beef called "Shorthorn Beef" purchased and raised by they own company.
On the other side, the Champagnes and wines were sponsored by MHD Moet Hennessy Diageo Co., Ltd. The exchange meeting was much appreciated while eating and drinking.
This time, many people participated as JFDA members were accompanied by young executives, and other staff.
Thanks to this opportunity we had the chance to talk about how the the restaurant industry will manage the Olympics and Paralympics this year.

JFDA 5th Meeting - 17th January 2019
Union Square Tokyo
The first meeting in 2019 was entitled "JFDA meets Napa Valley with Guest Chef “Christopher Kostow and The Charter Oak”, including Cakebread Cellars, Grgich Hills Estate, Silver Oak, Silverado, 10 wineries from Napa Valley the famous chef Christopher and UST collaboration dinner.

For our association especially this time the purpose of Napa Valley was “Exchange between business leaders in the food industry and the Napa Winery”.
The wine dinner hosted by Vintners realized exchanges between the business leader of the food industry and the Napa Winery. It was a meaningful dinner where we exchanged information while enjoying wines.

JFDA 4th Meeting at RESTAURANT THE BURN
This time, held at SUSTAINABLE GRILL RESTAURANT "THE BURN" at Aoyama First Avenue “Shinsei Aoyama Building”, produced by Mr. Morio Inoue vice president of JFDA.
The meeting entitled "Chef’s Exchange Party" aiming at encouraging exchanges of human resources such as managers, executives and cooks.
This meeting was mainly carried out by the JFDA members and the Executive Managements. The Greeting Toast was given by Stillfoods inc Mr.Suzuki. Afterward gave a speech about the difficulty of human resourcing,restaurants problems, and improvements of the restaurant business at this point.

After what a discussion between THE BURN’s Yonezawa Chef and THE 81’s Nagashima Chef who are responsible for the next generation’s chef. The discussion was mainly about the way of training the staffs in this current generation, ending with questions asked by all the restaurants sous-Chefs.

JFDA 3rd Meeting at RESTAURANT DAZZLE
The 3rd regular meeting was held at Ginza DAZZLE.
This time, the theme was about the initiatives toward the upcoming Olympic.
The Official sponsor of the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics” Asahi Breweries Co., Ltd.” explained the scale and the schedule for a better understanding of what kind of business opportunities exist for the restaurant company.
Also Mr. Satoshi Ishida Representative Director of CITABRIA Co., Ltd. and Mr. Masashi Fujimori Representative Director of Charpanté Co., Ltd. Held a panel discussion and a proposal was made to create a service department community among JFDA members to distribute information.
Mr. Fujimori Also did an introduction of a unique program holding a wine school. And conclude the event with a brief news report by the presidents and CEO’s of “UKAI Co., Ltd.”, “BALNIBARBI Co., Ltd.”, “Y's table corporation Co., Ltd.” and “ENTERPRISE Huge Co., Ltd.”.

JFDA 2nd Meeting at XEX DAIKANYAMA
The 2nd regular meeting was held at XEX DAIKANYAMA.
This time Mr. Ota Nobuyuki President and representative Director of Cool Japan explained the Company outline and Activities as well as the current situation of the overseas expansion of Japan Companies. We were also advised on how to open JFDA in the Overseas.
Furthermore Mr. Tetsuya Tokyu Corporation and Mr.Asari East Japan Railway Company explained about the development of Sibuya ward and the planning of future Commercial facilities.
As a special guest M. Hiroo Chikaraishi from Thomas and Chikaraishi, Incorporated talked about the importance of hospitality in food and beverage establishments.At the special gathering we enjoyed the “Kawadoko” style cuisine along with members who participate for the first time. We closed the event with the introduction of the new JFDA Website structure.

The 1st regular meeting was held at Lawry's The Prime Rib, Ebisu.
After the inauguration of JFDA, we started by the explanation of the association and introduction of everybody who support it. As the first regular meeting, we meet up with everyone considering joining the association. The Philosophy of JFDA is “to deliver the wonderful Japanese restaurant culture in domestic and overseas and to assist the future of the restaurant industry”.
For that purpose it is important for the restaurant management with high compassion to gather together to build reciprocal relationships. At the first meeting in order for JFDA to be active in the future, we welcome Mr. Shinjiro Kusumoto President and CEO of Café Company Ltd., representative director of the Federation of Food and Entertainment (FFE). He talked about the updates on the moderation regarding the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Business and the relationship between the Entertainment and the Restaurant Business”. In Addition we held a session talk on JFDA’s Future vision with Mr. Kanayama Shizaburo CEO of Y’s table Corporation CO., Ltd and Mr. Inoue Morio CEO of Salt Consortium.

The Kickoff meeting was held at XEX ATAGO GREEN HILLS.
At the launch of JFDA, we gathered together with all the restaurants CEO and Owner members interested in this association and held a kickoff social party at XEX ATAGO GREEN HILLS.
To introduce the world known and delightful Japanese food culture to the Overseas, the challenge of starting JFDA was necessary explain Mr. Kanayama Shizaburo CEO of Y’s table Corporation CO., Ltd.
He also explains the purpose of the creation of the association. Over 25 Corporates CEO’s participate to exchange opinions on the content of the future activities and what kind of activities should be done.
